Hossein Poushaneh was a 19-year-old young man from Baghmalek who lost his life during the nationwide protests in January 2026. Known for his youth and presence in the demonstrations, he was part of the revolutionary wave that spread through the province of Khuzestan. On Naderi Street in Ahvaz, Hossein was killed by direct gunfire while participating in the protests. At only 19 years of age, he became one of the many victims of the crackdown during the movement referred to as the Lion and Sun Revolution. Following his death, his body was returned to his hometown of Baghmalek, where he was laid to rest by his family and community. He is remembered as a "Javidnam" (Immortal), a term used to honor those who fell during the struggle for change in Iran.
